About Us

Banjaara was born out of friendship, music, and a shared love for bringing people together.

It all began in Galway, Ireland, where Emmet was running a music collective called Yawlag, a community built around sound, creativity, and connection. Dashmlav, who was experimenting with live electronic music, played his very first gig thanks to Emmet’s invitation. That’s where Harsh, Emmet, and Dashmlav first came together. That night sparked more than just music, it began a friendship and a shared dream of taking Galway’s audio-visual themed party scene to the next level.

Over coffee conversations and notepads, the three of us decided to try something simple yet bold, a self-funded event in the heart of Galway, open to all. We called it Arch Illumination.

We worked with sound and visuals artists, figured out logistics of doing such an event, invited people through social media, and asked the community to support us. What we received in return was overwhelming. With everyone’s encouragement and donations, we lit up the Spanish Arch and created a moment of togetherness that felt bigger than us. That night, we knew we were on to something.

Encouraged by the success, we collaborated with Galway City Council and Outset Gallery to create Otherworld (Past and Future) - an immersive audiovisual experience reflecting Galway’s balance between its historic charm and its future possibilities. With over 800 dancers and more than 50 artists involved, it became a true celebration of creativity and community.

Not long after, Emmet traveled across India, a journey we had all hoped he would take. When he returned, he spoke about the possibilities he had seen and the connections waiting to be made. Together, we began to imagine working, creating, and collaborating with artists in India. That’s when Banjaara was born
